This project involved the renovation and adaptive reuse of a building previously operating as a church and school building. Global Village Project is a non-profit middle school dedicated to educating refugee girls from all around the world. The program called for a school that engages a diverse group of students, supports education by meeting the students where they are as well as empowering young women to leave the school educated and prepared to reach their full potential. By strategically weaving together support spaces, creative spaces, performance and communal spaces as well as traditional classrooms and break-out areas for one to one learning with teachers and volunteers, the renovated school is enlivened with a positive energy that matches Global Village Project's vision.
